Recently, I discovered that our local park here in Greater Lagro, Novaliches, Quezon City (centennial park) does not have functioning streetlights to light up the park. Because of this, more danger could occur inside of it that bothered my mind. I am even afraid that criminals and lawbreakers would discover this dark area that can be used as venue to do crime related especially to drugs. Also, no barangay officials can be seen in the area to patrol the park which made me conclude that the park isn’t safe in the night.
My petition for this problem is to provide lighting to the streetlights present in the park to lighten up the area. This would make the park better because fear won’t be present anymore since there’s light in the area. The light in the park can easily wipe out the crime because these lawbreakers would be afraid to be seen by the public. My second idea if streetlights would not be implemented is to close the park at exactly 9 to prevent it to be used for other purposes. With this, transactions that are done inside would voided because the gates of the park will be closed.
I hope the barangay officials would hear me out because this minor problem could be a major problem because of the danger that might happen to the minors that enters the park.
